Let me start by saying that I'm somewhat obsessed with Qi chargers. I've got a few of them at home and it still feels like magic to be able to just lay your device on these little pucks and have them charge. Of the variety that I've tried, The Yootech Qi Wireless Charging Pad is by far the smallest version I've ever seen! It's a simple device, but that's the way these things should be. You plug it in and use it when you need it. It doesn't beep or blink at you, but the soft LED light does a great job of informing you what's happening: it's either green when it's actively charging your device, or blue when your device is fully charged. Perfect. A micro-USB charging cable is conveniently included, but not a wall charger. Yootech does recommend using an A/C wall charger for best results with this unit, however.
Because if its size, this unit would be ideal for incorporating into a DIY project to upgrade your nightstand or end table with a Qi charging area. I'm considering doing just that with mine. It would also be a good one to incorporate into a car holster, since you don't need much extra room to fit this into an existing phone mount. Its size is also potentially a problem too, though: it makes it harder to actually operate your phone while it's on the charger (it rocks off too easily). However, the rubber pads do help the phone stay put without actually sticking to the pad.
Yootech was kind enough to provide me with a discount so that I could try out this wireless Qi charger and provide an informed review.
