Let me start by saying: I love this case! I got it to protect the Kindle that I'm letting my two year-old play with when we travel. After a recent vacation which involved several airplains, long car rides and lots of melt downs, I can say with confidence that I am very satisfied with the durability offered by this case. I combined it with a Skinomi screen protector. I feel like I could drop it out a second story window and no harm would come to the Kindle Fire tablet! In fact, it was me who put the case to the test when I accidentally swung the thing into a metal cabinet and it just kind of bounced off like a Nerf ball.
Obviously, it adds some bulk to the tablet, but it actually makes it very easy for my two year-old to hold and operate. The handle is super easy to hang onto and conveniently folds allowing the tablet to be set on a surface for hands-free viewing. Fitting the tablet into the case took a little bit of muscle, but once it was in there, I was not worried about it coming out accidentally. The material is flexible, but not tacky or spongy. Once installed, all of the ports are easily accessible and the speakers, cameras and sensors function well despite being recessed within the case.
The Amazon Fire 7 tablet is an inexpensive tablet, and protecting it with a case like this makes it the perfect solution for kids. I'm very happy with it and can't wait for my son to learn how to compute using this setup.
