This is a dead-simple device that, in the right circumstances, might just save your life. Operation is simple: just stick it anywhere you want to test and push the button. If it's near a live current, you will hear a beeping sound and see the lights pulse through the yellow and into the red zone, indicating a potentially dangerous current. You can test it by actually placing it near a live wire, but also simply rubbing the end on some clothing will create enough of a static charge to trigger the sensor (which is actually pretty cool). My son had fun just rubbing this on stuff and getting a response. Also convenient is the LED light that is alongside the sensor. just push the other button and a light will activate for managing the unit in small, dark spaces. Finally, a small, but convenient feature is the inclusion of a clip for easily organizing and pocketing the device or clipping it to a tool belt.
