Cheap tablets need protection too when kids are involved!, Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The Amazon Fire 7" Tablet is great for kids. While it's a very inexpensive tablet, you will still really want to make sure that it's protected because they're going to beat on them in ways you would not believe! The IQ Shield screen protector is great! I have tried every possible screen protector over the years and these ones work very well and are definitely the most durable. This is a "wet application" screen protector: you spray a fine mist of a solution on the screen then apply the protector and wait for it to dry. I don't really know what the solution does, but it is very good at dissolving any tiny little bubbles or clouds that appear after application. After a day or so, the screen protector dries to clear! (Seriously, if you install it and it's got bubbles or cloudiness, wait a day or so and they will be gone!) One thing I like about these types of screen protectors is that they offer some shock absorbency in addition to protection from scratches. Application can be tricky, but if you follow the directions, it will work well. One additional tip I would offer is to start with the camera hole and work your way away from it. Another tip: avoid being too rough when trying to work out the bubbles, because they can become small creases if you stretch out the plastic. Then just keep an eye on the edges to make sure it's centered. One thing that is not as nice as a glass or hard plastic protector is that the surface is slightly more tacky. The bare screen allows your fingers to glide over it a lot more easily. The IQ Shield LiQuidSkin version, however, is very nice feeling and the effect is minimal, I didn't have any issues with playing games or swiping around with it installed. As far as how it looks, I can only say good things! It is crystal clear and there is no rainbow effect or any other distortion from the protector. IQ Shield was kind enough to provide me with a discount so that I could test this protector out and provide an honest review. I was very impressed.
